Hey guys, i just joined flix, and uhh well i love the way this is setup...
im a person w/ collection of 200+ moviez, and i add atleast 2 everyday to this collection... sometimes i reach adding 8 includin my bro who enjoys getting moviez....
anyways, i would add all my moviez into this database if i could, but problem is, the way this is being setup is not easy for me, specially using RS...
i cannot use RS... or any other file host site, its going to take way too long, it'll suk my up wich isp is sensitive about and i dont really think it'll work out that well...
but... i dont know if any of you know, there is a thing called newsgroups, and a group called alt.binaries.movies.divx
that posts high quality divx movies on there, and you can get it by connecting to your isp's newsgroup and get it totally free, and at very high speeds... i go up to 200-400kb/s w/ normal cable connection...
anyway, i was accually thinkin if flixdump could make its own,
how it works is, you seperate the movie files into 50 15mb files using winrar, then just putem up on the newsgroup, and everyone can take it off,
then just extract the files together and BAM!
The uploading is very easy because you use one program, and it totally controls what speed you are uploading so it isnt strain on your isp, and it tells you how long it will take, how many files are done and ETC.
Smile
though i can see you guys are trying to promote the site and it looks great,
even though i really hate doing this, im gonna see if i can try upping at least one movie and see how it goes....
again i would love to have all my movies up here but these hosting sites really give me a pain...
sick...i'm gonna try that...- newsgroups that is..

good job torob
yo.. if your from canada..how does that work.. b/c that site u gave doesn't work.. i'm currently using 'rogers cable'- this a US only thang?
oh no any country, and if you thought alt.binaries.movies.divx is a link, it isnt,
its just basicly a name,
now this is not for us only, im accually in cananda Big Grin uhh... what you have to do is,
find the name of your isp
for example "roadrunner"
now you have to go to google, and search up , roadrunner newsgroup
not specifically that keyword but you should know what i mean... now you look around until you find a address such as:
Example: news.roadrunner.net
or w/e
**NOTE** Most ISP's (Internet Service Provider) accually have this address on their site, because some people use it in outlook to get updated news and some other crap... so you might want to check that out too...
after you find your isp's news server address..
you have to download a program called a Newsreader....
or something like that, forgot...
anyways here i'll give you a couple of names

GrabIt <--- I suggest you use that, because it is not only free, but pretty good, only problem is it hogs memory at times..

Newsleecher <--- #1 best program for this job, many cool features, only problem which is kinda big one, is that you ahve to pay for it, it very hard to find a crack for it, so i suggest you just stick with grabit

if u want more ask...

google one of those and download the program,
first time the program loads it will ask for your news server address...
remember? thats the one you got off your isp... put that in, and finish the wizard...

just tell me what program you got, and i'll help you out on that prog Big Grin
