| Sinopsys: | A flight from Los Angeles to Nashville is diverted to land in Las Vegas, Nevada when one of the passengers, Ralph (George Back) becomes violent and attacks stewards and passengers while trying to force his way into the cabin. Ralph had been bitten by animals, identified as hamsters for his grade school students, brought onto the plane by Henry (Jos h Cooke). Ralph is restrained and locked in the bathroom, but not before he bites one of the flight attendants, Paula (Bre Blair). When the plane lands, air traffic control refuses to let it approach the gate. Disobeying orders, Captain Forrest (John Curran) and his co-pilot, Wilson (Andrew Benator), who is also displaying signs of illness, find a jetway operated by a baggage handler, Ed (Ignacio Serricchio) who is unaware that the plane has been quarantined. Almost everyone evacuates the plane, except for the elderly couple Bev (Lynn Cole) and her paralyzed mute husband Sylvester (Judd Lorman), and the pilots who try to keep Ralph imprisoned in the lavatory. However, when Ed leads them into the baggage handling area, they learn that they have been locked out of the airport. Soon armed soldiers and what appears to be Centers for Disease Control scientists surround the terminal.
One of the passengers, a military medic named Shilah (Noree Victoria), reveals she has a medical kit in her bag that is in the plane's cargo hold. The lead flight attendant, Jenny (Mercedes Masohn), Henry, Ed, Nial (Phillip DeVona), and Preston (Lamar Stewart) sneak back into the plane to retrieve it and other objects they may need. The cabin is empty but for Sylvester -- the pilots, Ralph and Bev are missing. In the cargo hold, they retrieve Shilah's kit and Nial's gun but Nial is bitten by one of Henry's hamsters, which he and Ed insist are rats. As they return to the cabin to re-enter the airport's baggage area, Jenny sees Wilson crawling in the back of the cabin, then is attacked by the infected Forrest. Nial shoots and kills him.
In the jetway, the group find that Preston had been attacked while trying to help Sylvester away from the plane in a wheelchair; Sylvester otherwise unharmed, but Preston is unconscious and bitten. Bev, who is infected attacks them but they escape with Sylvester. When they meet up with the rest of the group, they begin to realize that the infection is probably a form of rabies being spread by bites. Sylvester is bitten by an infected rat. The group decide to lock him and Paula up in the fear that they're infected. George (Mattie Liptak), an unaccompanied minor who Jenny feels responsible for, accuses Henry of being responsible for the infection by bringing rats onto the plane. Henry insists his animals were an unusual breed of South American hamster. Jenny takes Henry away from the group to talk to him, but they are attacked by Ralph; Jenny's screams attract the attention of the group, and together they strangle him with a rubber hose.
A team of four heavily armed officers enter the building. They direct the group to take Sylvester and Paula (who is now unconscious) out their makeshift cells and administer drugs to them via a pressurized injection to the neck. The officers then begin to administer the drugs to the other passengers. While attempting to administer it to an elderly woman named Louise, the now-infected cat she had been traveling with bites her neck and then runs off into the terminal. Sylvester, also infected, bites one of the officials. After killing the officer, the three officials attempt to flee, but are shot to death by the surrounding personnel. Ed drags the surviving officer inside, and the group hides in a catering truck from the infected, now including Louise, Nial and his pregnant wife, Susan. The group interrogates the officer, who reveals that he does not repredent the CDC but rather the Department of Homeland Security's anti-biological terrorism division. He tells them about a quarantined building in LA that housed a bioterrorist group's lab and confirms that the drugs administered to the the others had been possibly useless antidotes. Indicating that there is no hope of survival, the officer grabs Nial's gun from Henry and shoots himself.
After fending off an attack from Wilson, the survivors try to access an an old drainage tunnel through which they can escape the airport. Henry separates from the group to get more ammunition. Paula attacks but Jenny defends the group against her friend by pushing Paula off the catwalk to her death. They reach the engineer's office and start looking for the blueprints detailing where the tunnel is. George snoops into Henry's briefcase (which he has stolen at some point earlier), discovering alarming documents relating to viruses and a case containing a vial and a syringe. Nial and Susan arrive and attack, but Henry shoots and kills them. When the others realize Henry has been bitten, George confronts him with the evidence from his briefcase. Henry admits to having been part of the terrorist cell at the apartment building, who have planned a worldwide plague. He threatens to shoot Jenny if George doesn't hand over the antidote, then kills Ed when he tries to take the gun. While administering the antidote from the vial, Henry reveals that he is part of a bioterrorist group that believes the human population needs to be decimated in a plague. He then takes George and leaves Shilah and Jenny, the remaining uninfected, to die.
Shilah and Jenny chase behind but get separated. Jenny is attacked by Preston and is forced to crush his skull with baggage equipment. When she encounters other infected, she hides, but Shilah finds her by using one of the DHS officers' nightvision goggles. Shilah has been bitten but tells Jenny to find George while she buys them time. As Jenny escapes, Shilah allows herself to be attacked by the infected. Jenny finds George abandoned and crying near the drainage tunnel. George (unable to see anything in the dark) tells Jenny that Henry's antidote has failed and that he is now infected and mutating into a rat-like humanoid. As she tried to climb down to George, Henry attacks her. While they struggle, George uses the nightvision goggles to locate the gun and shoot Henry. Jenny finishes Henry off by beating him to death with a wrench.
Jenny and George - now the last survivors - escape through an air vent as the terminal is being burnt down. Jenny reveals she has been bitten and she begs George to leave her. George refuses to go without her, and Jenny reluctantly agrees to follow. At the end of the tunnel George is barely able to squeeze through the bars, which allows him to escape from Jenny, who is now completely overcome by the infection. George walks away ? but so does Louise's infected cat. |
